Crowley is launching the Mexico Gulf Express, an Intermodal vessel service between the Port of Gulfport, Mississippi and the Port of Tuxpan, Mexico. In partnership, CN is providing the in-land service between Canada, the U.S. Midwest and the Port of Gulfport, ensuring efficient cross-border logistics.
Located in the state of Veracruz, the Port of Tuxpan is the closest port to Mexico City (155 miles) and the central Mexican states representing 49% of manufacturing activity as well as 55% of consumer market.
The Port of Tuxpan also features the first semi-automated intermodal terminal in Mexico.This newly constructed, state-of-the-art container terminal has a dynamic capacity of 710,000 TEU (twenty-foot equivalent unit).
Combining the speed and reliability of CN’s North American network with the efficiency and capacity of the Port of Gulfport, Crowley’s marine highway service to Mexico’s Tuxpan offers dedicated service and capacity with competitive transit times that avoids congested border crossings.
