Latest Updates
November 15, 2024 — On October 29, the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW), representing 750 Signals and Communications employees across Canada, filed a Notice of dispute as part of the ongoing bargaining process with CN. The Minister of Labour has appointed three conciliation officers who will assist the parties in reaching an agreement. The first conciliation meeting dates are November 20 to 22.
Meetings with IBEW started on September 24th and while we are disappointed by the early filing of a Notice of dispute by the union, we remain committed to reaching a fair agreement that is good for our employees, customers, and the overall economy. Our main focus during these talks is to prioritize improvements that will help develop and stabilize our workforce while ensuring everyone's safety, and to prevent any work stoppage.
