Protecting natural ecosystems remains a constant priority for us. As our network extends to three North American coasts, it passes through a wide range of habitats, including national parks, forests, prairies and wetlands. These habitats are home to rich and diverse species that provide essential ecosystem and social benefits to the surrounding communities. We are committed to improving the environment where we operate and conducting our activities and operations in a way that minimizes our disturbance of these ecosystems.

Special Designation
CN received the Clean Corporate Citizen (C3) designation for CN’s Flat Rock, Flint, Port Huron, Battle Creek & Pontiac yards in Michigan. The designation recognizes the company’s achievement in exemplifying corporate environmental responsibility through its efforts to maintain, protect, and enhance Michigan’s environmental resources. CN’s yards have demonstrated environmental ethic and stewardship by meeting the criteria for C3 designation: the development and implementation of an environmental management system, the practice of pollution prevention, and a strong environmental compliance record.
