On June 9, CN brought its Leaders in Safety together in Montreal for a memorable ceremony to honour their achievements and the legacy they leave to our railroaders and future generations to come. Recipients included CN’s Lifetime Leaders in Safety, who have remained injury-free their entire careers of 35 years or more in field operations, CN teams who have achieved an industry-leading injury ratio in 2022, and employees who have performed heroic acts, such as saving a life.
“Looking out for each other, focusing on the task at hand and a lot of peer-to-peer communication kept me safe. I am proud of the way I worked and honoured to be recognized,” says Jim Koss, a retired locomotive engineer from Jasper, AB, who was a recipient of the Lifetime Leader in Safety award with a remarkable 37-year injury-free career.
All of our Leaders in Safety have contributed to building a strong culture of safety that is keeping employees, our network and our communities safe as we move the North American economy. They have shown that ZERO is possible and inspire us to be more determined than ever to get closer to our goal of being the safest railroad in North America.
