Keeping the public informed about how we operate is vital to CN. Although we are required by law to be transparent with the public, we have always welcomed the opportunity to share our practices with you.
It’s why we prepare and keep up-to-date a list of the sidings and spurs that we plan to dismantle in any metropolitan area or within any area served by urban transit authorities.
This list is below, our last update was September 23, 2016:
List of proposed sidings and spurs to be dismantled in metropolitan areas (PDF)
Whenever we make a change to this list, we must notify the:
- Minister of Transport
- Canadian Transportation Agency
- Provincial Minister for Transportation
- Urban transit authorities
- Municipal and district governments (in the cities the siding or spur is located).
And, of course, the public at large.
